INSIGHTS FROM BOB & CARLA
In the Bible (2 Samuel 12) the author describes King David’s lust for another
man’s wife—Bathsheba. After forcing himself upon the woman, he sends her
husband, Uriah, off to battle. He instructs the commander to place Uriah into the
most dangerous spot. And Uriah is killed.
Later, Nathan, the prophet, tells King David a story about a man who “has
everything” who steals something from a man with very little. Kind David is
outraged and is ready to punish the man who stole. Nathan tells David, “You are
that man!” David grieves, and asks God for a “clean heart.”
Is there something that you have done wrong? Is your inner “Nathan” declaring,
“It is you?” Sometimes a sense of guilt can weigh us down, and silently impact our
lives. Let’s admit it, make things right, and forgive ourselves. God is ready to grant
you a “clean heart.” Just ask!

Author, David Arnett
Guest Speaker
David Arnett is the author of essengers.
It is his first novel and the first novel to
be published by Unity Press. Mr. Arnett
spent more than 30 years in the US
Foreign Service. His last assignment
was as head of the American Consulate
General in Istanbul, Turkey. It promises
to be an interesting Sunday Lesson.
Messengers asks the question: “What
if you received a second chance at life
after a near-fatal accident? What if the
reason for your survival was facilitated
by a guardian angel whose very
presence—or lack thereof—set you on
an unknown and life-altering journey.
Messengers is part spiritual mystery,
part psychological thriller, part love
story and part sacred scripture. By
the time you finish reading the book
you will never think about religion the
same way again. Learn more at
